Hello. February is a very busy month for Second Grade. We celebrated the 100th day of school today!! We predicted whether or not the groundhog will see his shadow or not. Let’s hope for no more winter! The groundhog did not see his shadow, so spring is on its way!
The students will be learning about two important presidents of the United States of America this month. We will be celebrating George Washington and Abraham Lincoln’s Birthday. We will be reading stories and complete several activities about these two great men.
This month is also Dental Awareness Month. The students will learn about health hygiene. The students will learn how important it is to take care of their teeth. We will be reading books and completing activities what we can do to keep our teeth healthy and clean. The students received “My Smile Book!” and will need to fill out for the month of February. The students will receive extra homework stickers for this project.
The students will enjoy Valentine’s Day this year by decorating their Valentine holders, receiving and giving out Valentine cards and candy to their classmates, and much more! A letter with more details will be sent out soon.
